Share your personal tips for preparing for major exams. Include what works best for you—flashcards, study groups, practice tests, etc.—and why.

Prompt Response:   The best way that works for me while preparing for a test is using practice games. Practice games like quizlet, gimkit, and kahoot help me a lot. This is because I get entertained and don´t get bored I also make sure to take breaks and sleep very well because this will help me concentrate a lot more and will also help me feel a lot better I also try to stay as organized as I can  because this way I don´t struggle when I have to find things. I think that is the best way that I can study because other way get me bored, sleepy, and tired.  Summary: Having good studying skills will help you in life when you have a test or exam to prepare for. Reflection:  Having a good study time will help increase and improve your score and knowledge.

What do you think is the hardest part of writing an informational essay—brainstorming the topic, organizing your ideas, finding evidence, or something else? Write one paragraph about the part you struggle with most and how you might overcome it.

Prompt Response:  I think the hardest part of an informational essay is brainstorming. This is because it is hard to create ideas and determine what is a good topic to write/type 5 paragraphs about. Not only is it the hardest concerning how to focus on a interesting focus it also depends on the amount of time you have if you have little time to write an essay you have to brainstorm in a way that won´t waste you a lot of time. Even though brainstorming can be the hardest thing to do it is the most important because that is what your essay is completely about it sets foundation for the entire essay and it can quickly mess up your whole writing. I think something that can improve this is to have an open mind about anything you can write and also organize your ideas well so that you can easily find a topic. Summary: Informational essays are hard to write but the hardest part is brainstorming what you are going to write about. Reflection:  Sometimes brainstorming can be the ...

Write a blog post exploring your thoughts on near-death experiences and what they might reveal about life after death. Do you think these experiences are real, spiritual, scientific, or something else? Refer to details from the article and connect them to your own ideas or beliefs.

Prompt Response:  I think near death experiences may be peaceful and I say this because I have always believed the moment you die there is no pain, there is no more suffering, and no more feelings. I also believe people may die and come back from death because they feel the need to do or fix something that they have done wrong in this life probably like a problem with someone or because they don´t want to leave their families behind. Near death are experiences little people will tell us. Hopefully doctors will understand why it happens one day and why they come back from being dead. I don´t personally believe it is something that has to do with religion because it has been people with different religions that this has happened to. Summary: We read 2 articles on near death experiences. Reflection:  It is a complete mystery on why or how it happens but I believe it has nothing to do with religion.

Discuss how mastering precise vocabulary can impact your daily communication and academic success.

Prompt Response:  Mastering precise vocabulary extends my vocabulary and makes my essays sound a lot better. Another great advantage is that people understand me better because I use more formal words and explain my thoughts a lot more clearly. Having a better vocabulary can make me get better grades and explain my ideas better. Not only that it makes me understand books, articles and lessons way better. A bigger and better vocabulary can make me feel a lot more confident having a better vocabulary makes me improve my communication skills. Summary: Having a better vocabulary means having more confidence in yourself. Reflection:  Mastering a good vocabulary can make you understand everything better.

Today’s article discussed how more people are choosing to live in the suburbs rather than in the city. When you become an adult, which lifestyle do you think you would prefer—city life or suburban life? Choose one and explain your reasons clearly.

Prompt Response:  I believe living in the suburbs is better this is because living in the suburbs typically means having a more peaceful environment and as I grow older I don´t want to be stressed from like noise. I have always said I always wanted to have a big family and a big home with a big garden and the suburbs have increased space with larger homes. Another big reason suburbs are better to live in is because they have a lower cost of living in comparison to urban areas. Most suburbs have a strong sense of community and some have great schools. I believe living in the suburbs is more affordable, more peaceful, and people are more attached to their community. Summary:All I did was the commonlit Reflection:  I was not in class today.

Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you will personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

Prompt Response:  Based on what we have read in class and what Mr. Rease has told us student loan debt can ruin your life financially. Even though I know I won't be going to college I think the biggest thing is trying to not go for an unnecessary career because it can leave you with a lot of debt and no job. Before I had found out of debt I did really want to go to college but then I thought about it and what I want to be does not require college. I think a big misunderstanding is you have to go to college to get a good paying job and have a good life even though it has gone like that for many people there is people that go into debt and can never recover. There are some college students that work two jobs and go to college that is very stressful and they are doing that only for them not to go into debt. Summary: People don strive going to college there are many other ways to get a good life. Reflection:  There are some jobs that don´t require college all you need is the desir...

Tariffs are often designed to encourage people to buy American-made products. When you shop, do you check where products come from? Would you be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S.? Why or why not?

Prompt Response: Oftentimes I don't look at where products are made this is because most of the time when I buy something like most people I only look at the price. If the price is too elevated I try to find an alternative. Most of the time when we buy groceries my family and I go to Mexican supermarkets and most of the things there are made in Mexico. Sometimes we even grow our own food like tomatoes. Personally I wouldn't pay more for something made in the United States only because they may not have the same taste that I like and I believe the decision on the tariffs is dumb because instead of bringing prices down they made prices go up with tariffs. So I don't think I would pay more for something made here. Summary: I don't look at where things are made from I just take what I like  but other than that I don't look at anything else. Reflection: People will buy what they want to buy from where ever they want because not everyone checks labels.

Write about a time when your failure was necessary for your growth. Examples of failures could be failing a major exam, failure to make a team, failure in a relationship, etc

Prompt Response:  A time where I think failure was necessary for my growth was when I was looking for a job. I remember looking for jobs in small stores and applying online and no one wanted to hire me. My sister at the time was working at Zaxbys she told me that she could get me hired there I said no because I really wanted to work somewhere else. At the end of the day someone else hired me but they never called me in for a shift so then I finally accepted my sister's offer for working at Zaxbys. After starting to work there I felt comfortable and they gave me a very good pay. Now I really enjoy working there it isn't a lot of stress and I get enough money to buy myself stuff and help my mother out. Summary: Sometimes it is okay to fail in order to get something better. Reflection:  In order to thrive you have to fail at least once.

We discussed achieving your dream. Think of someone who has already achieved a similar dream. What lessons can you learn from their journey?

Prompt Response:  My current dream is graduating high school, keep on working, and go on to college. Someone who had a similar dream to me is my cousin. My cousin is a little older but she achieved all her dreams and now she lives a good life. My cousin's name is Judith and she graduated high, school kept on working, and has a very good paying job, she also already graduated college. Her dreams are very similar to my dreams and I believe it is because we lived a similar life where are parents both struggled financially. Even though there are a lot of struggles I really want to graduate high school because it wouldn't be fair for my parents that came from so far just for me not to graduate.  Summary: We all should achieve our dreams no matter what they are. Reflection:  Struggles shouldn't get in your way for you to achieve your dreams.

Choose a word from Vocabulary Lesson 12. In at least one paragraph, define the word in your own words and explain where you encountered it. Describe how understanding this word helps improve your communication or writing skills.

Prompt Response:   My favorite word in vocabulary 12 is martinet. Martinet for me means someone that is extreme some who gives very precise instruction. I had never heard that word ever but once I saw it in the vocabulary it seemed very interesting. I think I can use this word when I write essays or like stories where there is a character that is very strict and controlling. Martinet for me is someone who is controlling and very strict. Summary: Today we worked on vocabulary. Reflection: Today we worked on vocabulary.

Which time do you perfer the most and why, Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time?

Prompt Response:  I think standard time is better. I think this is because when time changes I feel so tired and I don't think this is necessary. I don't think it is necessary because it always goes back to regular time and I think it doesn't help with anything. Changing time only confuses everyone and mostly kids that go to school very early because one day they have to wake up an hour early and the other they can sleep one extra hour and this is why I mean a lot of people get confused. Summary:Virtual day Reflection:  Virtual day

Who is the best cook in your family? Describe a meal that person has cooked for you.

Prompt Response:  My family on my mother's side are all good cooks we all learned how to cook when we are small. For us we always are cooking our Mexican traditional food I have never seen my mother cook foods from other cultures. Some people may believe we are always eating the same thing but no my mom cooks some foods that I didn't even know existed and she always has something different to cook. It all also depends on the occasion but in my opinion the best cook of our family is my grandmother. My grandmother is the best cook and since I am her favorite she always cooks for me. My grandmother sells tamales everyday at her job so I would remember when I used to help her make some and she would always make some special tamales for me because nobody else in the family liked them and those were tamales dulces. I believe they are the best tamales there are and I love how they come out when she cooks them. Summary: Today we had to finish our food poster and turn in it. Reflecti...

What is the most disgusting food you have ever had? Tell what it is, what was the occaison, and why it was not so good.

Prompt Response:  I am extremely picky in what kind of food I eat I have always been like that so when my mother makes food she always  gets mad because I don't like what she makes. I will always eat my mother's food except when I don't like to eat but even though this the most disgusting food I have ever tried is sushi. Sushi started to become a little more well known and my friends all said they really liked it so one friend brought sushi one day and we all tried it. To say the least I didn't like it at all I believed it was just raw fish and I don't even like fish. That was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. After that day that I tried it with my friend I never ate it again. I think Sushi is something I will never eat because I think it is disgusting and don't share the same opinion with other people that say they like it. Summary: Today we worked on our poster. Reflection: We worked on our food poster.

As we think about Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response: I think my favorite vocabulary word right now is impaled. This is because I have been wanting to get a piercing but first I have to convince my mother. So I have been trying to tell her in different words so that she will let me get a piercing. My favorite word is impaled and I use it a lot when I am trying to write an essay or trying to convince someone impaled when something is punctured.  Summary:Today we had to do some vocabulary. Reflection:  we had to do some vocabulary today.
