Today during the class period I read The Great Turtle: Iroquois Origin story. I had to read the passage and answer questions to find out if I was understanding the story. This story was about the chief’s daughter becoming ill and someone tells them to lay her nest to a tree and dig up a hole and that is how she would be cured. But the tree fell through the hole and dragged the girl and fell down into the water. Two swans went to help her because she was too  beautiful to let her die. At the end of the story the animals end up making an island for the chief’s daughter and now it became the world’s island. This was a summary of the story I read from today’s assignment.
