Write about a song that brings back a specific memory.

Prompt Response:   I don't think I have a song that brings back memories I think it is certain places that bring back memories. There is one place that will always bring back very nice and happy memories and that is our old apartment that burned down. This is because this was our first apartment here in the US after we came back from Mexico. My parents started from 0 and we had a nice home with a lot of pictures we also had a lot of toys and we were financially stable.  We were all very happy in that apartment and till today it brings good memories. Write about something that you believed as a child.

Prompt Response:   Something I believed as a child was Santa Claus. I remember when I was in elementary school kids used to say he was not real and we would argue all the way home because I did believe he was real. Until one day we were coming from school and my mother picked us up and I was telling her that the fairy did not leave me any money for my tooth this time and then it slipped out that the fairy and Santa Claus  were not real. I was in shock I could not believe what she was telling me I started crying and she comforted me and told me it was OK that she would keep buying me gifts. Now I think about and just laugh but at the time it did hurt me. Summary: Today we also worked on our presentation. Reflection:  We just worked on our presentation again. As well I kept learning more and more about the story.

Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

Prompt Response:  There have been many times where I can't stop laughing about something but most of the time it always involves my grandfather. My grandfather has always been very funny but at the same time he is very mean. My grandfather is always telling us stories that he has lived or just jokes that come out from nowhere. One time we were at my aunt's house and he was telling us about this time he went to work and something very unexpected but very funny happened to him publicly we all started laughing. This has been like more than 5 years ago and we still laugh about it till today. Summary: Today we went to the auditorium to talk to our counselors. Reflection:  I learned how to look for a college that matched to my choices. I also learned about the possibility about dual enrollment and how to check my hope gpa.

Write about a fear you have overcome.

Prompt Response:   A fear I have overcome is heights. When I was younger I would hate going to the fair because there would always be games that were like roller coasters. I have only gone one time to six flags and the time that I went I only got on one game which was like a little boat. Then I went to this other place that had like a swing that would throw you to the air and then catch you. There were 4 seats and we were 4 friends so they convinced me to get on. I did get on and that was the most horrible experience of my life. Even though I got on after that I never went on no other roller coaster or anything else that I would be scared of. After the swings I had to go to the hospital because of a very bad headache. Summary: Today Mr.Rease told us about our presentation on Adobe Express. Reflection:  Today I learned how to use Adobe Express. Also Learned a little more about the story we are reading,

This includes tamales, enchiladas, corundas, bu ñuelos, ponche, and atole. My family always waits for Christmas because of the great meal. We don ´ t only await the meal also because it is the only day the whole family is together at my grandmother ´ s house. Summary: Most of the class I did my poetry test. Reflection:  My reflection is to study more because I believed the test was very easy but in reality I got a 62.5.

Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

Prompt Response:   Something I can ´ t stop thinking about is if I will graduate or not this is because of the grades I currently have. This is because of my grades there are 4 of my grades and they are above a 90 but there are 3 there are below 81%. I tried my best to do all my work and homework but sometimes I am very tired from school, work, and other things I have going on Most teachers are willing to help me get my grade up but there are some teachers that don´t want to help me even though I have completed everything in their class. My graduation depends on all my grades. I also can ´ t  stop thinking about what will happen after my graduation will I go on to college? What will I do ? Where will I work? Summary: Today we read chapters 2 and 3 about the story A Lesson Before Dying. Reflection:    Even though his grandmother is the one that takes care of him she can ´ t teach him what a real man is. Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

Prompt Response:   There have been several times where I have been judged unfairly but there is one time that I will never forget and that was when I was dealing with a lot of things at once. Everyone would think I was lazy because I would not do my homework. I would also hear my teachers say that I would sleep a lot in class and that I was failing a lot of my tests. This was until I explained to one of my teachers that I was dealing with something at home and that I was really struggling. She understood me and started to speak with the rest of my teachers so that they would have a little more patience with me from there on I felt more support from a lot of my teachers. From there they would help me a lot more and they would spend more time with me. They would also let me have a little spot where I could sit down for a little bit or I could eat lunch there. Summary:  Today we read a chapter of the story called A Lesson Before Dying.  Reflection:   Never trust ...

Write about a conversation that changed you.

Prompt Response:   A conversation that changed me was when I went to my father´s house and told him I felt like he had never protected our family (mom and siblings) from his family (his parents and his siblings) and that is why my parents got divorced. We had a very long conversation about it and he started explaining to me that even though his parents treated him horribly he would always love them. He also explained to me that since he was the oldest brother he felt the responsibility to take care of them and he would feel very guilty if he did not do that. This conversation changed me because I understood that by telling my dad to stop helping them just made him feel bad and it also changed me because I understood that sometimes you should just distance yourself from people that cause you harm even though that means you would have to distance yourself from your own family. We talked of many other personal things that I will never forget and he has made me understand many t...
